About Hattersley

By 1937 Hattersley & Newman Hender both enjoyed worldwide sales, with Hattersley exporting to some 73 countries. During the second world war, both companies entered war production, making fuses for armaments, brass rods for munitions factories and, of course, special valves for military purposes.

In 1968, Pegler group, Newman Hender & Hattersley merged to form the Pegler-Hattersley group and later in 2004 Crane Limited, purchased the Hattersley valve brand and business from Hattersley Newman Hender Limited, a subsidiary of Tomkins plc. Peter Wilson, Managing Director of Crane Limited (which has since been renamed Crane Building Services & Utilities ) said at the time -

"The acquired business supplies a range of branded valves for use in heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems for the commercial, industrial and institutional construction industry. The Hattersley business will be integrated into Crane Limited and further broaden our range of products and the fluid and gas handling solutions that we offer to the building services, industrial, water and gas markets"

Today Hattersley is a leading brand of Crane Building Services & Utilities, and is joined by an array of complimentary building services brands including NABIC, Brownall, Wade, Rhodes and IAT.

In addition, the company has been approved and/or listed by  third party organisations including the United Kingdom Water Regulations Advisory Scheme.
